Helen's story: when the choice to breast feed your baby is easy
When I first found out I was pregnant with Martha (now 14 months) I didn’t think much about the whole feeding side of things although had it in the back of my mind that I would probably breast feed if only for the fact that it was free!
When Martha arrived the nurse came in and showed me how to breast feed and it seemed to go ok and it just worked! Whenever she was upset it was so easy to just breast feed her that way, in the middle of the night when she awoke there was no messing around with warming bottles and burping up the wind that goes along with it.
All in all I breastfed for around 8 months and one day she just decided that was it and didn’t want me anymore but it was all a natural progression and a thoroughly worthwhile experience and I will definitely try and breast feed again when (if) I have my next baby.
