Breastfeeding a baby can be difficult. Whether you're worried about something, or just not sure, don't hesitate to call for help. It can make all the difference to you and your baby.
We've compiled a list of the breastfeeding helplines in the UK. If you spot any inaccuracy or missing information, kindly let us know.
Most of the helplines are staffed by breastfeeding mothers who've been in your situation and gone on to train to support other nursing mothers. They will be able to listen to your concerns without judgement and give you the best possible breastfeeding advice.
For non urgent queries, you can also email the helplines. Remember to include as much information as possible so the advisor can give you accurate breastfeeding advice quickly.
If your question is a medical emergency for the mother or baby contact your GP, your midwife or go to the nearest A&E department immediately.
Calls to 0300 numbers cost no more than calls to UK numbers starting 01 and 02 and will be part of any inclusive minutes that apply to your provider and call package.
