Breast Pumps

Choosing the breast pump the most appropriate to your needs is essential to making expressing breast milk easy. If you will only be expressing breast milk occasionally or in order to relieve engorged breasts, then a manual breast pump will be the easiest. If you are planning to express regularly or to return to work and continue to breastfeed your baby, an electric breast pump will allow you to express milk faster and more comfortably.

Whichever breast pump you choose, take your time making yourself familiar with it. Choose a time when you feel relaxed and warm. Many mums have experienced that expressing breast milk before baby's first morning feed is easier. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, some nursing mothers find it easy, others take a little while to get used to it.
