Engorged Breasts / Inverted Nipples

Breastfeeding with flat nipples, inverted nipples or engorged breasts is a challenge that can lead to breastfeeding difficulties. The baby can struggle to latch on correctly to the breast. 

If you are worried about successful breastfeeding, don't hesitate to get in touch with a lactation consultant, breastfeeding counsellor or your local Leche League as they will be able to provide you with the most appropriate help.

We have selected a few products which will help you draw out flat or inverted nipples. They will also help in the case of engorged breasts. Please note that nipple shields can create other types of breastfeeding difficulties and should only be used as a last resort, for short periods of time and preferably under the guidance of a breastfeeding counsellor.
