Protect sore or cracked nipples when breastfeeding

Breastshells are worn by breastfeeding mothers who suffer from sore or cracked nipples. The breastshells are tucked inside your bra and provide protection by stopping clothing from rubbing or pressing on the sore nipple.

The shells have vented fronts to allow plenty of air to circulate, promoting speedy healing and allowing you to continue breastfeeding as soon as possible.

Medela breastshells have a soft silicon back to give a comfortable fit and are contoured so that they show less through clothing.

If sore or cracked nipples persist, we recommend that you consult your health visitor or breastfeeding counsellor as incorrect positioning or poor latch may be the underlying cause of the problem.
